Getting the most out of your blog (Part III)

Here are the final two tips on “getting the most out of your blog.” I have a lot more to say about blogs and Web 2.0 tools, but I’m going to address other aspects of blogs in my next post.

5. Include a space where your visitors can leave comments. This allows you to determine what’s working with your blog (and what’s not), and it gives visitors an opportunity to talk about what a great blog you have!

6. Think carefully before you allow advertising on your blog. It’s a great way to make some extra money for your company, but if people see more ads than information, first-time visitors will never turn into repeat visitors. If you allow advertising, make sure the ads are clean and don’t interfere with the main purpose of your blog: exposure.

Happy blogging!

I would like to thank Bob Savar for inviting me to his blog. I have worked with Bob for over 10 years and can report on a business and personal level he is a terrific human being! Bob’s contribution to community, our industry and his devotion to his family example of how nice guys can finish first! I am very impressed that Bob has taken the time and energy to develop this Blog and will check in from time to time. I would like to comment on another leading-edge technology that will maximize and improve response rates from all the newly found targeted traffic to your site from your developing blog. We call this technology My Virtual Spokesperson tm (www.myvirtualspokesperson.com). I invite you to learn how this format can be an effective tool that enhances brand awareness, educates customers, underscores the value of your products and services, and make online content more compelling.
